Electronic Navigational Charts

The Hellenic Navy Hydrographic Service (HNHS) is responsible for the production and distribution of official Greek Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) to the maritime market. This process is conducted in strict adherence to the guidelines, standards and specifications established by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), augmented by supplementary national hydrographic standards.
These charts undergo regular updates by the HNHS and are designed for integration into Electronic Chart Display Systems (ECDIS) as well as any Electronic Chart System (ECS) capable of processing encrypted ENC data.
The Greek ENC portfolio ensures comprehensive coverage of the nation’s area of cartographic responsibility and has been available since 2004. In addition, as of early 2026, the HNHS has commenced the distribution of an initial series of Greek ENCs developed in accordance with the new IHO S-101 electronic navigational chart production standard.
