presenting Historical Charts & Heirlooms Exhibition
“HYDROGRAPHIC VOYAGES”
The exhibition entitled “HYDROGRAPHIC VOYAGES” travels its visitors in the history of Greek nautical chart based on chronological order. The first Greek nautical chart was issued by the Hellenic Navy in 1908.
Original historical charts, reprinted older charts of great historical value illustrating important historical centers of Hellenism in Asia Minor and later versions of nautical charts adorn the entire Floating Maritime Museum Battleship G.Averof.
Visitors have also the opportunity to see unique heirlooms from the history of our office, such as a lithographic plate, a tide gauge of 1939 and many other cartographic, hydrographic and oceanographic devices, that are presented to the public for the first tim.
The exhibition is going to take place at Floating Naval Museum Battleship “G.Averof” from 01-03-2015 until 01-09-2015.
